Help with rear dropout

I've got a vertical dropout but everytime I try use the bike the rear wheel falls out its like the quick release doesn't stick to the dropout frame so I was thinking maybe I should convert it to a bolt on one since it will be sturdy but could someone help me with what I shall do next (the dropout is like worn and I had to file it for my rear hub motor which then didn't fit so I had to give it back but now I bought a bafang mid drive now that rear wheel is really becoming annoying since i can't ride it anymore as the wheel keeps coming off even if I pick the bike up the wheel just drops

Photos would help.
You didn't say how/why you filed the dropout to try to fit the rear hub motor.
Sounds as if there's something wrong with the QR or its adjustment.
