I have a Gents and Ladies gifted to me from my Dad, who bought them and used them twice, and they had been in storage down in a nice dry basement since 2012ish? Ladies works fine …. until I found out it hadn't charged the battery. The charger unit makes a clicking sound when plugged in and won't now charge.
Now the Gents on the other hand won't assist from a start off and needs to get above 10mph to assist and then cuts out up any hills. Crank sensor bush isn't in contact with the sensor rotor...Should it be? The "Boost" throttle also kills it and I have reach around to flick the keys off and on again as well as keeping my forward motion ….
I am also gonna have a fiddle in the box behind the seat and work through unplugging leads to see if anything makes a difference. When running the motor sounds fine and doesn't seem to struggle. I can ill afford to spend valuable funds that could be allocated to finishing pimping up big style my trusty 2004 Claude Butler Cape Wrath (frame is the only thing left that's original)….. now a sister brand of Dawes
