hi all i am hoping someone can throw some light on an issue i have with my Bpm kit i just finished fitting it yesterday and have taken it for a test ride today , how disappointed i am there seems to be very little difference between my 8Fun motor and the Bpm motor on the hill climbing on closer inspection it appears the controller has an over current of 17A however looking on the Greenbikekit website the 36v 450w controller they supply has an over current of 25A is it a case of a wrong controller sent or is the details for the controller wrong?
any advise appreciated thanks

Which kit did you buy, what's your wheel size and what battery are you using ?

I am surprised. I've knobbled my 450W controller to give a max of 17A and i can climb virtually any hill.I think the controller label says 22A. Then again i am on around 52V not 36. I get around 850W maximum, which is all i need. Do you have a wattmeter?
Which BPM? front? rear? do you know what code winding it is? need more info.
You have your watts and amps mixed up jackhandy

Do you get full 15mph assist ? Also is it new or old battery ?in either case, and I'm no expert , but low voltage from dodgy cell/s in pack might do it. Or even just poor performing - so full voltage but far greater than normal voltage sag under load. Sounds like you need an expert or a watt/voltmeter to diagnose.

max rpm 216 is only for legal bikes (16mph). You need faster RPM version.

I can't understand what you're saying about the controller. Where did you get 17 amps from? Is it written on the controller? How many FETs has it got or what is its physical size. As long as it has 9FETs, you should be able to solder it up to 25 amps

The 350w BPM will climb much better than an 8fun SWX. 25 amps is about the maximum. It can take a lot more, but it doesn't make much difference to performance. The 9FET controllers (Con 2) used to give 22 amps, which would be about ideal for your battery and motor. The KU93 from BMSBattery is the same. I've got a spare new KU93 which you can have for £22 including postage if you can't sort your problem.
