Hi I am a long time cyclist with a heart condition that now likes to have some help when I cycle.
I bought a Kalkhoff but carelessly left the key in situ when storing the bike. I got a replacement key from AXA but the lock now seems damaged. The new key won't unlock the battery from the bike. What can I do?

You could try a set of jiggler tools (eg https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/387403224416)
or drill out the centre of the lock.

(I've never done either myself, just seen comments)

Once you get the key unlocked and the battery free ebay a new lock and keys they are cheap items easily replaced by undoing a few screws.

Or WD40 to free it off. The lock is stuck and WD40 applied directly inside with a straw will get it free pretty quickly if you rake the key in and out like a lock pick after dowsing the inside.

Ordinary WD 40 is not a proper lubricant, but locksmiths use it to free stuck pins in locks. You can also get a specialised lock product called Houdini from locksmiths. Probably has ptfe in or something of the sort.

Locks should not be full of oil. Over time the more volatile components in it evaporate away, leaving a sticky residue which combined with dust blown in can clog them up. Dry lubes are preferred, but once a lock is stuck, you can free it with the volatiles in ordinary wd40 combined with key raking. Later, most of the wd40 will simply evaporate, so it won't get sticky and jam.
