I'm Keith.
I am 65 and have push biked to my last 2 work places (both about a mile away) for the last 30 years.
12 months I purchased a Carrara Subway electric bike. It has been absolutely fantastic.

However on the journey home this afternoon I encountered a major problem.

Half way home she became sluggish and not her usual self.
The last 100 yards I didn't have to pedal she was surging !
As I turned on my uphill drive she surged and crashed under me, throwing me off.

She and me are unharmed.
If i switch the power switch on she surges/lurches forward.

Something is a miss..

She is still like new...having covered less than 500miles.

Anyone got any ideas about a fix. ??

Keith

Have you been riding in the rain & does it have a throttle ?

Follow the wire from the torque sensor all the way to the connector. Either the wire is damaged or there's water in the connector. You get that problem when there's a short between the red and the yellow wires. Also, the cable could be pulled from the torque sensor if the chain came off, but if it did it on it's own, it must be water.

Hello lads .. thanks for the interest.

The next day I rode the bike to work ( am a metal machinist).
I removed the lower panel and undid the torque converter.
I cleaned and blew it out with our compressed air.

It is now longer surging. This morning when I powered up the bike moved forward 18 inches !

I came home this evening on her and she seems to be getting better.

I will keep you posted

Did you check the connector?
