Hi All,
Just joined the forum. Been interested in e-bikes for many years, but didn't get around to doing anything meaningful until last year. My legs aren't what they used to be and after several ops, I've found the assistance very helpful.
I bought an inexpensive Bafang kit and converted my main bike - a hybrid bike for commuting to work. It was great for getting to work, but then I got worried about leaving it anywhere else, like going to the shops. In the UK, if something isn't bolted down it will get stolen and if it is bolted down, it will eventually get stolen.
My dad had an original Powabyke in his shed, 20 years old at least. I converted that to Lithium batteries initially, then decided the feeble and noisy brushed motor and controller had to go. Now it is converted to a 250W brushless and runs very nicely, but looks crappy enough not to draw attention!
So that's me, two bikes, one for commuting and one for local trips.
