September 15, 20169 yr Author What are you test riding ? Will be from haibike range. Shop in Chichester organises trail rides on their e mtbs. Think they use hardtails.
September 15, 20169 yr Great choice but haibike can be expensive, have a look at the KTM and Cube range as well if possible.
September 15, 20169 yr Author Great choice but haibike can be expensive, have a look at the KTM and Cube range as well if possible. Thanks. KTM eh, not heard much about them..I'll see how the ride goes but think I'm gonna like it! I'll definitely be doing my homework before buying due to the prices! Lots to think about with plus size tyres and e-mtb specific components etc. A lot's changed in a few years away from mountainbiking!
September 15, 20169 yr Cube in particular are good value for money and KTM with their off road heritage says it all realy. The Bosch CX motor is probably the one to go for at the moment and paired up with the 500wh battery it is a formidable combination.Buying local as well if possible is also prudent.

Thanks Nemesis, I'll look into those. I also saw that Merida have an e mtb full susser coming out and they're usually good value. It has the shimano motor though, like the idea of them not getting a stranglehold on electric drivetrains too!
September 15, 20169 yr Be prepared to hand your credit card over..... I hired a Trek from Coed Y Brenin and after a hundred yards was giggling like a school kid. I then bought a Haibike after lots of research, with the Bosch motor. Enjoy the test ride, they're a game changer and addictive. Edited September 15, 20169 yr by Highside43
September 15, 20169 yr Author Haha I already have the same expensive hobby as you judging by your photo! I'm selling a couple of motorbikes with the expectation that I'm gonna want one once I've tried it!

September 16, 20169 yr I refused to sell any of the bikes... What is this "selling bikes" of which you speak? Mark
September 17, 20169 yr My argument was that each bike is a different style - road bike, track bike, supermoto, scrambler / enduro...that way I could expand the toy box without sacrifice.
September 17, 20169 yr The bikes in both avatar's appear to be diesel dogs, so best rid of them anyway.
September 17, 20169 yr Author The bikes in both avatar's appear to be diesel dogs, so best rid of them anyway. That's why they're pictured in motion, not in bits on the workshop floor!
