My name is Darryl, recently I had a conservation with my friend and he advised me to buy Giant FastRoad E+ Pro 2 for my wife as her first e-bike. It is worth buying it? I want to know your opinion about this e-bike and make the right decision.

For e-road bikes you might be better asking on the cycleuk forum.

It's probably a nice bike when it's working. When anything goes wrong with the electrics, you'll be beholden to your Giant electric bike dealer. Personally, If I was going to get a bike like that, I'd get a bike with Bosch or Shimano system because there are more chances to get it fixed and more knowledge on how to fix them; however, a crank drive doesn't make any sense at all on a bike like that when it's restricted to 15 mph. A hub-motor would be much more reliable and give a better ride.

The drive system is exclusive to giant giving 80 nm available torque applied progressively via a torque sensor, through a crank driven motor. Reviewers are all really impressed by the relevant ease steep hills are tackled and the range the relatively low capacity battery provides. No assist level selection as this is applied automatically in relation to pedal effort, through the torque sensor.
For a stealth ebike this bike is a smidge under 19 kg which is quite heavy compared to other road type competitors and has a little more complicated/ elaborate system.
consideration should be given to the other road ebikes available on the market as many are lighter in weight and have more range.
Every review I’ve read states the power boost from motor is the strongest they have encountered on a road legal system as long as sufficient effort is applied through the pedals, and there in lies the crux of crank drives, proportional pedal effort is essential
