I've had an electric bike for 4 years now and have been very happy with it. But I had a bike accident (on a hired bike - non electric) on holiday with friends last year, in Brittany. I fractured my pelvis and had to have a major op in Jan this year. I haven't gone back to cycling yet but am starting at the gym next week (a special rehab course - 12 wks) - and hope to get back to gentle cycling in Sept. Unfortunately, my e-bike was a man's model, and now after my op I think I will be safer on a ladies' model (step through). The company who made my electric bike do not do ladies' models. I only need it for gentle cycling around our area in S.W.Surrey - but it is rather hilly, so that's why I need an e-bike. I don't know where to start! Can anyone recommend a cycle that would suit me? I'm small (5'2") and also need a bike (inc battery) that is not too heavy. I am 74. The bike I had before had a bottle-shaped battery that went in the bottle cage, and was not at all heavy or conspicuous. Any suggestions? There is an electric bike shop in Farnham, so I will probably go there to buy it. But I need some recommendations first!
