Hello! I'm new to electric bikes and thus to this forum. My fisrt Giant Lafree Twist lite was nicked and with insurance i have replaced it, second hand. This one does six miles then the light blinks, and it does about 6 miles with that blinking light before the motor stops. Do I need a new battery - and i riding it wrong? (there r no hills - its all London commuting. Since the battery takes its charge, should i be worrying about the electrics on the bike b4 replaing the battery? All this on eco mode. Its a wonderful experience, this bike, and i have discovered the world of canal paths within London - amazing life enhancer! any advice gratefully received. Bill x

Hello Bill. That is odd behaviour and it seems the battery or it's cells are probably about two years old, judging by the 12 mile range. If someone has re-celled the battery and not got the meter connections just right, the meter can give odd readings, but I wouldn't worry about that.

You're not using it wrong, the bike's electrics aren't involved in the meter in any way, these are just battery anomalies.

I'll have a better idea if you use it on normal mode once and let me know how it behaves then, both the range and when the lights change. Then I'll be able to say if a new battery or re-celling is worthwhile yet.
