Hello all,
1st time member, I've joined up this group as I have a handcycle attachment for my wheelchair which has an electric power conversion.
Pic attached.
I'm really after a bike rack for a SUV which would be a good secure fit. The problem I have I don't want to invest into a tow bar method due to the car being a motobility vehicle. Any suggestions on this?
I have seen the Saris bone make which has been popular for larger vehicles etc.

Hi Simon and welcome.
That looks like one great bit of kit.
I had a saris bones to begin with, but I'm looking at your hand cycle and wondering how it would fit the saris.
Have you tried popping to Go Outdoors and asking to see if they can fit the display saris and see if it'll adapt to your hand cycle, maybe even halfords ?
We moved onto a tow bar and Buzzrack scorpion bike rack eventually, but now we really cheat and we've got a van.

Hi Dom
Thank you for coming back to me on this.
When I put in my car details into Halfords website they said they didn't find anything on bike racks on my car! Only Tow bar versions!
But it's strange as In the US they use the Saris Bones quite a lot on the CRV!
This is what I need to just try out before I buy. But trying to initially find a place to do this! Unless I try also Evans cycles but purchase it from another place. I haven't tried Go Outdoors will have a look at this.
How did you find the Saris Bones anyway?
I've heard out of all the racks on the market this one seems the better one.

I had a mitsubishi colt GT Turbot at the time, it had a roof spoiler so had to buy some hatch back straps to replace the one set of straps. It took 1 ebike well enough, but couldn't take 2. Nose weight for the mitsubishi wasn't the best. The actual saris itself I found safe, it strapped down well, didn't move about when strapped in properly. cut up an old inner tube to place under the ancorage points so it didn't rub on the car, all in all a good buy. My youngest son has it now.
I'd certainly buy another one.
