Been running Heinzmann classic hubs for 14 years now, spares or complete second hand hubs are rare, looking for an alternative hub that will do for the future, need around 80NM, have always run Heinzmann 36v steel geared hubs at 48v , except my first, which was 24v and only 27NM, and the plastic secondary gear stripped on that when I changed it to 36v.
Heinzmann 36v hubs with composite secondary gears also strip at 48v.
Best heinzmann hub I found for me, is the 36v 170 RPM 53 Nm 33A steel gear one, am on my 3rd, I run it at 48v it does 17 or18MPH on 29 inch wheels and must produce around 80 NM.
Have been looking at loads of hubs, bafang hubs are too fast and do not have the low down torque I want, as live in the pennines and 35 degree inclines are plentiful, 250 RPM at 48v is some where abouts the speed I want, the MAC geared 12T hub motor looks a likely candidate has anyone experience of this hub motor? do not want a mid drive as had a bad accident with my right foot 12 years ago at work, got crushed very badly, heel is ok though, so cannot push the bike and walk up a steep hills, also got diagnosed with lung cancer March 2020 just as lock down came in, so got radiation damage as well, which does not help.
Do not want to buy a hub that is just no good, as money is a bit tight, and PIP will not even allow me 1 point for the mobility you need 8 points for standard and 12 points for enhanced PIP.
