Having a Brompton converted to Ebike

A week ago i obtained a Viking Eco stepper folding Ebike and yesterday folded it (it sort of collapses really) and it was such an awkward and heavy package when folded, it filled the boot of the car, and looked vulnerable to damage.
The design as a folder is very poor, so now I'm looking at having my Brompton converted to Ebike.
Has anyone any advice or experiences to offer?
Help would be appreciated.

1. Where are you based?
2. What length of journeys are you planning?
3. How much effort do you want to put in yourself (to riding)?
4. How much effort do you want to put in yourself (to building)?
5. How fast do you want to go?
6. How much do you weigh?
7. How hilly are your planned journeys?

1: All over is the best way i can answer question 1, as the ebike will travel in our touring caravan or the boot of the car
2: A range of 40 miles would more than cover the short trips I would be likely to take.
3: I would like the bike to be a Pedelec rather than throttle control, as being over 70 I need a reasonable but not heavy level of excercise.
4: I would prefer it to be factory fitted.
5; 10 to 12 MPH will be fine!
6; 13 stone 5lbs (but I'm working on that!)
7: moderately hilly on average i would say, but I'm not really expecting miracles!

Thank you that kit looks promising!
You could probably do a cheaper job buying the bits piecemeal, but the battery in the front bag connected by the luggage block is very neat.

The fold is the same, although you will notice the extra weight of the motor and controller.

The bag with the battery in is a few kilos, depending on the size of the battery.

Worth getting the smallest battery you can manage with.

For me, I got my brompton second hand £450 with the motor kit £200 and batter 36v 4ah £31 from B&Q which saves a lot.

I am. I have the max power one that goes up any hill. The downside is the heavier battery in the front bag. Mine is throttle only but I think they have pedelec options now. Done a few thousand miles on mine over 2+ years.

Now that with the pedelec option and the great hill climbing capability sounds just the sort of thing I'm looking for!
