On my commute I suddenly lost power. Well so be precise my led panel stayed on but with one flashing light.

This means empty but I was only 2 miles in

I assumed either I had a knackered lipo booster pack or accidnetly picked up one that wasn't charged

But both batteries are fine

I thought I might have heard a pop but could have just been gravel. No fried electrics smell

And the panel remains on showing empty though.

Then I noticed that the first pin on the jst balance lead looked scorched. And the shrink on the throttle connection shifted by a few mm

If the jst pin and a 5v throttle cable touched could this produce the result ? By allowing over 5v to hit the throttle feed ?

Only measuring will tell you what's wrong.
1. Measure the battery voltage on its connector (disconnected).
2. Connect the battery and measure the voltage on its connector while connected.
3. Switch on the controller and check that voltage again.
4. Disconnect the PAS, throttle, brakes and motor. measure the voltage between the red and black throttle wires on the controller's throttle connector.

Those measurements will show something if you damaged anything in the way you suggested, so do those first, then report back.

Cheers, I was at work when I posted and being a bit lazy. Now I'm home and got bike indoors......controller stinks!

No need to go much further. It's fried but I have a spare
