I'm looking for an e-bike for commuting to work.
I go over a mixture of road hills and off road mud and dirt track.
i use a regular mountain bike but I'm heavy (120kg) and slow on the hills (5mph) and the narrow, fast twisty road means most times cars come flying round the bend to find me slowly chugging up the hill. There's a bend full of smashed wing mirrors where the road narrows. I think an electric bike will get me up the hills and out of the way quicker and more safely.
I like the look of the 250W RadRhino - the chunky utility look and fat tyres appeal to me (I also drive a big old Defender), and I think it would suit the road and dirt track commute to work.
My work are taking part in the Halfords bike to work scheme and I know I can use those vouchers at some local bike shops, but I was just wondering if anyone had experience of buying a bike like this via the scheme, or could recommend a similar bike more widely available in the UK.
