Something doesn't stack up with that battery, It says 13ah but is 6p cells. 6 x 2600 is 15.6ah so the seller doesn't know what they are selling. Personally in this day and age Sam 2200 or 2600 cells are yesteryears cells and one can find better celled batteries to day. The specs state 30a continuous discharge from a cell that is only 5.2a max discharge so at or near that discharge rate will be 100% stressed all the time.
The rating should be about half or 20a max.
When I had these cells 6 years ago or so they were past there best after 18 - 24 months of hard use.

One should aught to look for a battery with 2900, 3200 or even 3500mah cells in this day and age with 18650 format.

that battery is in 13S5P, 65 cells. It's good for 48V TSDZ2 but it's bulky and heavy.

after Nealh had said about it not adding up i was going to start trying to work it out there was not enough in the picture of the cell to look up spec of what was in the picture ,but i did think 10x 3.7 is 37 not 48 . so if its 13s 5p all is good an they have made a mistake
with his in mind do you think this would be the best option as the charger and plug look good
and the cells are reputable

i would make one but
its abit like if king charles cleaner left her bike in the palace an it burst in to flames an she had a homade battery on it there would be a bit of a problem but if it was a manufactured battery the cleaner would not be inso much trouble
an i know if you build your own battery it would be done to a higher standard an spec

What has been decided is for a bike I'm building for my brother. We will get a battery for now then in the future build a better one, he wanted to cycle 10 miles each way then he chucked in to the aquation he doesn't want to charge it every night, he did want a big triangle with everything contained inside but building a box like sondors frame box with removable battery is a bit of a tall order to fit hinge and locks securing the battery and to have the whole lot not rattling. I was happy to build a box not out of wood or metal and have a fixed battery but atm he has 4 doors and stairs to go through before he gets to his aparment so puts his normal bike in his car and when using it for work he wants to do the same with a ebike and take the battery off to charge, we went through the whole thing of 100 mile range with molicel p42a.
Then he said o well lets just try a 13ah for now then 3p12s but now I have said I don't want to be responsible, I don't mean I would of caused it but I would be in a situation where I don't hold any compitancy for building batteries so it could not be said it was made to a standard and if a fire starts where he works or in a apartment block or someone could knock his barrery off his desk and not tell him and it all looks fine on the outside but when the problem accured it would be who made that unsafe battery? and we would both be in trouble.

You want 3500mAH 18650 cells or 5000mAH 21700 cells. They are good value for money at the moment.

would i find them in a assembled battery from a reputable suppler ar a reasonable price
we sort of after a £200-£260 battery that is certifiet /or meets what ever standards ,that would do 2 day riding so 40miles between charges ,not really any hills ,rider quit fit he does a 50mile ride on his racer once a week the bike has 20a controller (will set to 18a ) 250w rear hub.
so may be he would only need 8.3 ah

It's not so much certification as whether the supplier is still in business or findable in case your battery goes wrong or causes an accident. Battery cells are certified if they come from big brands like Samsung. Battery transport carton needs to be certified compliant but not curiously the BMS which can start a fire with a faulty charger.

How does 10S4P 21700 5000mAH compare with 10S5P 18650 3500mAH in terms of discharge current and their relative ability to power a 250 watt hub motor up long steep hills? (assuming they are both decent quality cells e.g. Panasonic).
Does the 21700 pack have the same expected lifespan as the 18650 one?
Is there much of a weight penalty with the 21700 pack?
