Hi everyone,
I've recently made the plunge and bought a Haibike Xduro Nduro RX 2016 e bike. It's my first e bike and at first I was loving it.
However out of 5 rides the bike has let me down 3 times now.
The first was when I had the bike lock up momentarily but then freed up,this was traced to a bearing problem on the top sprocket, promptly fixed
I then had issues with a very noisey crank.Back to the shop and was found that the motor casing had warped and was rubbing on the top front sprocket....again fixed quickly by the shop.
Today was the latest problem, again noisey crank but far worse this time. When trying to climb the noise is awful and the chain sounds like it's bone dry, even though it's just has it's 100 mile service and was all lubed up.Not only that but i'm now getting a knocking sound from the headstock on jumps,i've checked the headstock and I can't get the sound to replicate when just pushing it up and down.Oh and I've got battery problems too !!
I'm very disappointed as I've spent a lot of money and the bike just is not up to the job.The shop I had the bike from have been great so far but i'm waiting to hear what they say about the latest issues.
Am I unlucky with this bike or have other riders had similar issues ??

if you want to jump a near 23kg bike then things are going to brake sounds like you have knackerd the bearings in the head stock, easy cheap fix with some new bearings.

also sounds like something is up with the motor so id ask them to change it as the shop cant open the motor or fix it as will void the warranty from bosch.

as you have done such low mileage id ask for a new bike or a refund but if you want to keep jumping it then things are going to brake.

2 days up the forest jumping was enough to total my xd hub that holds the cassette on and my bike is 20.9kg and the lbs said it will go again if i keep jumping it. not cheap at 80 quid but got a new 1 under warranty.

Actually you may have found the problem, they are very sensitive to chain lubrication. Give it a really good clean and lube, including the SRS gear and see if it changes it. In some conditions I need to redo it after 10 miles. My new Haibike Nduro Pro is much worse in this regard than either of my Amt Pros.

I haven't lubed my wife's trekking yet and done at least 150kms so far. Looks well lubricated but being the trekking model we don't use it on rough terrain and don't do jumps either! Otherwise no problems with the sduro whatsoever

The chain was lubed up by the shop the day before when it had it's first service.I've made sure that it has been cleaned down after a ride and the lubed up afterwards

When I say jumps I don't mean big air time jumps......I'm afraid I'm not that talented :)

The battery charges up fine and works on the bike, but once off the bike you can't turn it on or off with the button on the battery itself

Well the shop have been great. After a chat this morning they are sorting me out a new bike.I've gone with a cube stereo hybrid 160 hpa action team 500 27.5 this time.I would have gone with that originally but there was no stock at the time.
I pick it up tomorrow so fingers crossed i have better luck with this one :):)

Woodsy.....with absolute impartiality I thought the Haiblke was the toughest of the off road electric bikes. Out here in Greece the guy next to me rides a Haibike ,Fat bike, over some of the roughest terrain this little island can offer,he is very pleased with his e-bike.
It will be very interesting how well your Cube copes with the riding you expected of the Haibike.
I had reason to check the terms and conditions of any bike sold by Specialised and Bianchi....it appeared to me that there was almost nothing you could do on those bikes that was not excluded from the warranty, any bending of frame, forks, handlebars, levers, any damage to wheels, spokes, tyres was automatically rider error.....if you as much as sat on the bike you voided the warranty, hehe.
KudosDave

The cube must be a good bike, because pedal a bike away down here in the Forest of Dean hires them out and I think they take a fair amount of abuse.

Good luck with your new bike and let us all know how you get on with it

Where did you get the bike from?, I think it's a good idea if you name them because it looks like they need a pat on the back for there excellent customer service.

We are all quick to moan about how bad a dealer is so I think it's time that we big up the good dealers.
