Time Owned: 3 Days

Local Terrain: Flat / Moderate Hills / Very Hilly (*delete as necessary)

Off Road / Rolling Countryside
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Strengths:

Well made, not overly heavy
Will tackle any terrain in comfort (15psi)
More torque than previous Bosch motors
Range - 2-3 hours (90kg rider)
Tour setting is sufficient for almost anything
The new Nyon unit

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Weaknesses:

Brakes not quite as strong as I would like on a combined 110kg fast moving bike but OK
Dongle vanished on Day 1 - Perhaps could be fitted out of the way
Tyres can be difficult to fit if you have not done it before - I would suggest practice before trying to fix a puncture while you are out. Ideally fill the tubes with Stand Notubes and that will give great puncture protection.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Summary:

If you like off roading / cross country trekking this is the bike for you. Its comfortable, very powerful and with a great range. The 4 inch tyres give a sense of stability regardless of the terrain and adjusting pressures
by small amounts can have a significant effect on comfort. Its OK on the road but makes riding on tracks like riding on a carpet. Having had several electric bikes before I think Haibike have got this one spot on. Well worth the six month wait.
The Nyon unit adds some more data if you like to see where you have been and what you are doing although as yet I can't find a simple timer of how long I have been riding as with the old one.

Congrats on your new ride!

How do the assist levels feel on the Fat six? Does eco mode do anything on such a big bike? Do you have any numbers on range?

I'm six months in waiting for my KTM Macina Freeze, looks to be couple of more months to go

I can actually answer for myself :) I had a chance for a brief test ride on Felt Lebowske with Bluto fork, so it's pretty much the same setup as Haibike Fatsix and KTM Macina Freeze.

Tyre pressure was pretty low and with the assist set to 'OFF' the bike felt really heavy and sluggish. On 'ECO' it felt kind of a normal bike, the weight was removed and it was nice to ride. On 'TOUR' mode you could feel the assist starting to pull the bike. Even more so on 'SPORT' and 'TURBO', I actually could not tell much difference between the last two.

Fat tires + low tyre pressure + suspension fork = insane traction. The bike is glued to the ground and is not bouncing around. So much fun to ride! Makes my waiting even worse now :p
