Looking for a step thru for the wife either few or ideally no gears.

Gtech City seems to sell for about £5-600 but with no guarantee.

which is the Best Buy?

No gears is quite restrictive unless you live in a very flat area. Might be worth considering hub gears. e.g.

I came to this site to get up to date advice on buying a new bike, i keep seeing HALFORDS mentioned . DO not buy from this shop.
We bought two electric bikes and from the day we collected them , there was trouble.
For your own health and well being have nothing to do with this shop.
The problem is not confined to individual shops, the reverse in fact- while they have many good staff, the customer service is truly abysmal.
After 2 years of grief and broken promises , we have given up and intend to buy two new bikes from a company with a reputation!

From Halfords, I have a Bazingo MTB (analogy) and my sister has a Crossfuse with Bosch motor/electrics, Both are working fine.
Ive no problem buying from Halfords but I do do my own maintenance

Where do you get off insulting total strangers, your a 2hat

my local Halfords have a competent mechanic who has been more than helpful in the past when I needed parts for a special build, not all branches are the same.

Nexus hub twist gears, if you stop simply change gear to the one you want.
Kudos Safari £695 if any are left a lot of bike for the money.
