Hello, we have a Gtech City eBike, it has been working well.
The bottom bracket speed controller was replaced 2 months ago.
Now there seems to be fault on the system, the battery is charging and shows 4 green bars, but when we connect it to the bike, it shows 4 red solid bars and does not work.
Red flashing normally means low battery, but this is something different.
Any suggestions from anyone as to what it could mean?
We have tried it with 2 batteries and the same issue.
Thanks, Seb

Gtech batteries show fault codes, once pulled the motor cable apart slightly and battery showed red lights but a fault code twenty something, so was easily traced. If no code then must be new base controller but try all connections first.

Thanks for your Reply Atlav4, we will check the connections and water damage, best wishes, this is the older model battery, so no screen for codes
Unfortunately, everything is sealed and bespoke, so nothing to fix. Only Gtech can help and I heard they've run out of spares for your version. Some people swapped the battery and receiver for the later version, but that's expensive.

If it comes to needing a new battery and you're good at DIY, I'd chuck the Gtech one and get a Chinese one and standard motor controller, which then allows you to be master of your own destiny regarding speed, power, throttle, repairs, etc. total cost would be around £250.
