Hi, long time lurker here, finally decided to register. I've been a regular commuter cyclist for the last 15 years, now looking to purchase a new/used road/hybrid pedelec.
Mostly curious about the current state of the supply chain in the e-bike market as I've struggled to get a new/used regular 700c wheel for a road bike. Placed an order online 6 weeks ago with a popular high street chain and am still to receive it! Used wheels which used to retail new for <£60 are being snapped up on e-bay for >£100 where postage is an option. Wondering what's going on ...

You indicated as much supply and demand with factories closed, current production and stock is low and sellers cashing in on it.

Yup - supply and demand

Local bike shop has sold its whole shop 4/5 times since lock down started - now they cannot get any more bikes as the warehouses are empty and the factories are only just starting to get going again. This is based on a conversation a couple of weeks ago - it may have changed as the Chinese factories wind up!

If you can I would wait for a few weeks and hope the supply chain starts up soon. Otherwise you are stuck with what is available!
