Governing Body ???

Seems Pedelecs are between the devil and deep blue sea with regards a Governing body( or any such thing)
I,d assume been bicycles we come under auspices of Cycling but since Pedelecing as such is not a sport been wondering where we stand.
Had a similar situation in windsurfing years ago, to its eternal detriment (IMO) RYA took control.
So is there an independent body overseeing emtb / Pedelecs ???

We had BEBA (British Electric Bike Association) set up a little while ago by some in the trade, but after a while it was found that there was so much overlap with bicycle issues in general, the principals decides to merge BEBA into The Bicycle Association.

So it's now The Bicycle Association which represents our pedelec issues.
