Hello. Been a lurking E biker for a few years after being seriously impressed with a quick ride on a haibike last year at my LBS, as someone with COPD it was a revelation, still couldn't breath but was able to conquer the landscape at a more respectable pace.

When I ride with friends Im working far harder just to stay at the back on the trails. I don't mind this but recently feel that I may be causing myself more harm than good by riding harder for longer. My heart rate is too high and I may be doing this for the wrong reasons. I mainly ride trails and roads in my locale these days and my rides average between 15 - 30 miles

Thought about converting one of my bikes with a mid drive, but the cost of this is quite high and Im not sure it looks right, (bit like a fizzy?) Im thinking a bike designed for the job would have better weight distribution therefore handle better and dynamically be a better ride. So I found this forum and hope to improve my knowledge. Any tips would be welcome.

Hi welcome

Lots will tell you too convert which is great and cheaper
But for me personally it never looks intergrated enough
For instance I’m delighted with the hidden batteries etc it just makes them look more traditional just wish the motors where a bit smaller
But again it all personal choices neither are right or wrong
Have fun with whatever you choose
:)
