I found a link to a Google Map type site where you can map out your running or bicycle route. It gives mileage and elevation.

My route to work is at: Gmaps Pedometer

If you leave off the "?r=1579884" part, you go straight to the site where you can put in your own route and save it. I don't know that there are any security controls. Probably someone could go in and modify my route and I wouldn't know it.

You can see the big hill I have at the end of the route. Since I did the "complete roundtrip," You can see the symmetric elevation map. The high point is right in the middle.

With my Bionx, I use the assist on that last hill and I use the regen mode on all the downhills on the way home. Doing this, I can go a long time without ever having to use the charger.

Hi John, somebody this side of the pond started a post on Gmaps earlier this week. Here is the link for your info: http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/electric-bicycles/1375-great-online-route-planner.html

John;)
Yes indeed. In fact, I probably read the first thread and meant to post something to the recumbent list about it and mistakenly started another thread here.

Now I'll go look at the Bent Rider Online message board and see if they have anything about Gmap. It is a really great way to plot out routes.

Thanks,
John
