Glad I Fitted Marathon Plus Tyres: Why?

I have fitted Marathon Plus Tyres to my Forza over the weekend, & oh boy! am I glad I did, not just for the normal benefits mentioned many times on the forum, but because the inner tube fitted in the front Kenda tyre was half bent over double for 4 inches and trapped against the wheel side. This only allowing half the tube to inflate at that section of the tyre. The best consequence of this would have been a puncture on a journey, & worst a blow out at speed.
Does this happen occasionally in the assembly of new bikes:( , or am I just unlucky.

It's not something I've come across hobo1, but it's obviously possible with careless fitting. The problem I usually find is that the rim tape/band has broken at the valve hole and is no longer protecting the tube from the spoke ends, although I've not it cause a puncture.

No Ian, it's not happened to me before, but as I said before I might of been unlucky. When I have changed tyres or tubes in the past something I have always done is to take care not to pinch or trap a tube.

Yes Hobo1, my Torq was delivered like that. Once out of the box I pumped the tyres and the front immediately blew out, the tube having been trapped under the beading at assembly. So my first job then was to cycle to the nearest dealer on my Twist for a new tube!

So you're not alone, but were luckier than me.
