I have a prob only just bought not familiar with it.

1 bike would run short distance then lights cut out after a while come back on, I thought duff battery.

2 run lead up from conections on bike where battery goes to a good battery I put on the rack.

3 Plug in good battery ( lithium of powabyke same volts ) all lights come on and then pedal for a bit all lights go out and dead again till unplug battery or fuse reconect and all fine again then cuts out etc

4 Temp wiring all fine. Does anyone knowledgeable on this model or where diagrams exist repair manuel etc.Nice bike apart from that.
many thanks in advance

That's usually a symptom of the voltage dropping below the cut-out level. Although the original NiMh battery type initially drops voltage under load, it then sustains mid-volts well. Lithium batteries aren't so good at that and if it's from an X bike, this will be particularly true of that very low capacity Powabyke one. X-bike batteries are nominally 6.5 Ah, but a number delivered were in fact 4.5 Ah.

Of course I can't say that's definitely the problem, but it's a likely candidate.

Giant may be able to send you a PDF manual for the Suede, here's their customer service email address:

Yes, thanks for asking, a perfect recovery with no pain at any stage. Plenty of countryside walking to enjoy the weather, but no cycling for a little while.

Hi again I changed for a higher amp battery still does as above.
One thing I did notice whilst fitting a neighbours young lads stabilisers was that as it was sat in the garden the motor power dispay unit would cut in and out as it beeps not that often though I then noticed that the pedalec side appears ok as with the wheels lifted off the ground the motor would kick straight in and work ok
Confused Fatts:eek:

I've no idea regarding that on the Suede, it still seems to be the system not liking the battery since it runs ok offload.

It's difficult to diagnose when it runs ok then, the battery normally being the problem in these circumstances.
