September 19, 20169 yr I had a free pass today so decided to try a longer ride, I have the bikes display and a garmin gps which between them produce a wealth of stats and figures, the main ones of note being.. 66 Miles Ridden 3500ft Climbed 27% Battery Remaining Now this will mean a lot to some, and not much to others and to be honest, while this detail looks good it doesnt really help anyone decide how this bike, or any other might perform for them However, there is another stat that perhaps does, and this is the time you can be out there riding it! Among others the bike records a trip time, but only counts this time when the wheels are actually turning so this is moving time, not play time which as we all know can be very different.. So my 66 miles and 3500 ft having used 73% of the charge was done in 4 hours (moving Time) according to the bike, but in reality it was more like 5 hours (play time) as I stop and chat whenever I can. So it should be fair to say that 6 or 7 hours out is a definite possibility on this bike..
September 26, 20169 yr Hi Phil, Thanks for the review. I'm waiting for a demo here in the US. Much better mileage than my Stromer which uses 75% power @ the 25mi mark with a larger battery and similar Elev Gain. My average speed is around 19-20 mph. A few questions; Waht was your average speed?? What power mode where you in? I assume your bike was restricted in Europe to 20mph keeping power consumption down on the flats. Thanks, Steve
September 26, 20169 yr Steve In the EU we are restricted to 25kph which is 15.5 mph. I had a go on this bike at the NEC. It is very quick but I'm too old for it. I found the ride too hard on the narrow tyres and the riding position would soon have done my back in. I think a very lightweight unpowered road bike ought to keep up with it. For me I need a more upright position with fatter tyres to absorb the bangs. As a bike though I was very impressed with the Giant.
September 26, 20169 yr Author Hi Steve, As Crockers says its 15.5mph cutoff. The link should give you all the detail for most of my review ride, the rest was a separate ride on the same charge and I added them both together. I ride in Normal all the time.. I have found that its quicker getting up to the cutoff and power is outstanding, whereas in eco it takes longer to reach the cutoff and is slower on hills, so even though it is using less power it is working for longer so in my opinion there is no gain from using eco. Sport is another matter entirely.. I have tried it on big climbs and its good, but not needed! I am 67 with no real cycling history, and for normal road riding I can happily cruise along above the cutoff, so depending on your age and fitness you should do better than me.. or not as the case may be! https://www.strava.com/activities/717767667 A more impressive effort.. https://www.strava.com/activities/707340690
September 26, 20169 yr Phil, Like you I have just returned to cycling for exercise and health. I enjoy it to the point I'm out 3-4 times a week. Here is a short spin with two KOM's. Must be driving these avid cyclist crazy that a 59 yr old is turning out these times LOL https://www.strava.com/activities/711398642 You really should list your rides as e-bike rides, pinching KOM's on an e-bike isn't really on. Now that looks like a nice place to ride... Around Keighley takes some beating.

September 26, 20169 yr Yes I was thinking that. Pinching koms just adds flames to the cheating fire.. I just make mine private... No offence intended by the way Sorry Phill that comment wasn't for you, I know you already do the right thing. All my rides on the e-bike get listed as e-bike, I only occasionally upload them as ride to see how I've done, then change them over soon after.
September 26, 20169 yr Author No Worries. I just noticed that Cip57 had one is all. On one front if we all put them in as ebike rides and made some segments we would build up a database for future rides, but when I tried to do this my rides seemed to be excluded from my totals.. so went over to making private if the ride was a bit ott
September 26, 20169 yr Author there all on drugs anyway Ah yes but they all have asthma .. don't they?

New e-bike segments don't get checked through the database for rides already done, so only any rides after its creation get logged, I've made a few, but it's a lonely old world in the e-bike Strava world.

That's what you get for cheating....
September 26, 20169 yr That's what you get for cheating.... Talking of cheating I was riding up a 1.5 mile local climb with my friends 9-year-old daughter when 3 club riders passed us near the bottom, I said jump on their tail and see if you can keep with them, they were chatting away all the way up. She needed a couple of pushes to keep her on the back. When I got home I checked my pace on the long segment and it would have given me 2nd place overall in the women ! not bad for a 9-year-old (her not me of course)

You can't add it from a phone app. took a bit of figuring out. You should have mentioned you where going to flag it in your post.

I didn't flag it, if I had I would own up, it wasn't flagged when I looked. ETA, just looked again and I see no flag, perhaps only you can see it is flagged?

September 26, 20169 yr I figured out how to list my bike. You can't add it from a phone app. took a bit of figuring out. It has nothing to do with the bike choice, instead of listing the activity as ride it needs to be listed as e-bike. The choice is yours of course.
September 26, 20169 yr ill need a bigger sprocket to take out the road bikes tho on the flat time for the mega tooth sprocket
