Only had my bike a week. I didn't notice it straight away as it's worse off road but there is a clicking noise coming from the front somewhere. I can't tell where. I'm gonna take it back to the bike shop but first want to know if anyone here has any ideas? You can hear it right near the end when I go over the grass, it's pretty annoying

sounds like the forks are loose and not fitted right out the box so id check that first.

the stem bolts hold the fork on not the top cap so if you hold the front brake and try to move forward and there is play its that.

I took it back to the shop. He said he thought the shocks were also loose so he undid then tetightened them. The clicking noise is still there but not the handle bars are also slightly wonky.

well if they was loose and you was riding it for a week the head set bearings could now be damaged and need replacing.

Are they expensive? They should sort under warranty anyway. They even told me to carry on riding it today even though it's making noise. And I'm taking it back in tuesday.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FSA-Headset-Bearing-Kit-1-1-8-1-3-8-1-1-4-Tapered-Orbit-Headset-Bearings-/302623905098?var=&hash=item4675ca554a

you can ride it but the noise probable wont go away if a bearing has been damaged so will need to be replaced tho they should of checked this but i bet they just tightened the bolts and not even bothered to remove the forks and checked and regressed the bearings.

if you was riding hard of road with the forks loose like that you could of ripped them out of the frame and destroyed the bike esp over jumps.

That's not good. Wish I was a bit competent with this stuff myself. Ye he just tightened them, he was busy, took all of a minute doing it. And like I say bars aren't even straight. Hopefully when I take it in Tuesday I don't pick it up with exactly the same problem I took it in with

I've had a feel for play in the headset and can't feel any. Tried several times from several angles and I'm sure I'd feel it. Watched a few videos showing play and mines definitely not like that.
I'm thinking maybe it's coming from somewhere else

you wont feel it now its tight but if it keeps clicking then id bet it was the bearings if you cant sus where it is coming from now.

Don't know what to say. My Giant sounds very different!

I certainly get some motor noise but little else.
