Fully charged, will not power on, Victoria Pendleton

Hi I bought a 2nd hand Victoria Pendleton bike which for the last week or so has even working well. Yesterday the battery was low and cut out. I managed to ride it home and put it on charge. The battery appears to be fully charged now but the controls on the handlebar will not click on. I’ve tried holding the button down etc. but no joy. There are 4 flashing lights on the battery and the charger has a green light, which indicates it’s fully charged. Any ideas?

If pressing the battery button for 5 secs and one gets the four leds flashing it is indeed charged, one can double check this by taking a voltage with a meter at the discharge terminals.

If the led display does not turn on, then it means there is a no power to the display.
Check battery is inserted correctly also ascertain that the battery is out putting a voltage reading with a meter, no voltage output reading will mean a blown fuse either inside or hidden behind a grommet.

No here's a 'battery numpty' view, so treat it cautiously and await one of the forum battery gurus (@Nealh for one) to comment, but I'm wondering if your battery BMS needs resetting which is usually done by charging the battery briefly (how long is 'briefly'?) through the discharge port.

As I say, await for further guidance on this.

Here's but one of many web articles on the topic (link)

I have never needed to wake a BMS up, so reverse charging I have never needed to try on a three wire BMS.
I do have a two wire/same port BMS which utilises the same port for charge & discharge but for this it will use seperate circuits to protect the cells from over current on the charge side.
