This demonstrates exactly why 2, at least, Bike locks should be employed!! And why Kryptunite locks are not quite as good as their reputation, but of course, many others are even easier to open or cut!!
Remember Guys, two locks and an alarm system, MIGHT save your e-bike!!
regards to all

Wow that's impressive speed, shows that "secure" locks are no match for the professional!

l've been using a solid looking motorcycle lock to secure my ebike and l bet it's no better than that one.

ls that tool you are using readily available and does it take special training to use it? A bit like the car tracking device jammers, spend hundreds on a tracker and the thieves jam it with a £50 box you can readily buy online....

It's horrifying how almost anyone, with tzhe right tools, can open most locks, especially cylinder types, after an hour or so's practise and watching a few YouTube videos.....
Thats all the training you need.....
I was only in a locksmiths job for 7 months, after I retired from my previous employment of 38 years as a computer specialist, and I can still open people's front doors today (only for friends and neighbours now) with alarming speed, it is SO simple. Most are shocked rigid!
This is the reason that I always recommend 2 good locks and an alarm on all bikes as well, even if it only serves to give the thief a touch of the "runs!"
Nowadays the tools are easily aquired on ebay as well......
If you have any other questions, I will do my best for you (any anyone else!)
The tools for completely removing a cylinder properly, without damaging the lock, although simple to use, are due to the need for very high quality, are usually not available on ebay, even though they may look the same.
The ones I bought in 2007, have been used many times, only on cylinders with special anti drilling pins, but still look like new, but cost around 45 UK Pounds each!
On cheap cylinders, they are easily cut out or opened using a normal hardened steel drill (3.2mm), provided you know exactly where to drill.

Andy

Great... now I'm going to have to use two D locks! I've got one, plus a long cable for the front wheel, but as yet lacked the courage to leave my bike locked in a public place unattended. I usually fold it and carry it inside in a bag on a small folding trolley, or in a shopping cart, which I wouldn't do if I had any confidence (which that lock-picking lawyer keeps killing!) in the unpickability or angle-grinder resistance of bike locks.

angle-grinder resistance of bike locks.
Scarily priced those

Which I suppose is subjective compared to the cost of replacing a bike.

I think it's sentimental value in my case - 554 squids is about half the price of my conversion

I bought my Dahon folder from a mate for £100 many years ago, plus the bbs01b kit. Without the extra bits and pieces (lights, etc etc), that's about £919 with a 19.2ah battery.

I was just looking, and joined the alert mailing list as Hiplok are going to be doing one of their own, priced I think about 1/2 that price.
To be called the D1000

And it looks like a lock, not a black pudding.

if i pay £8 i can lock my kiox display to the sn of my motor so if it is removed another kiox wont work.

i can also just remove the display and it wont work anyway lol and if my display gets damaged or the batt inside it dies i get to pay 40 quid to unlock it at a dealers and sell me a new kiox display
