I have a recumbent that I need to sell. it currently has an AKM rear hub but I want to return it to analogue to sell it.
So I am looking for a freewheel (7 speed) hub, so I can build a 26" wheel around it, to return the bike to standaed for sale. Every time I search for freewheel hubs I am deluged with freehub adverts. Can't seem to find the relevant hub/axle. Can anyone help?
Might even go for a 26" disc compatible complete wheel if it is cheap enough.
Thanks in advance.
Ben

A 2mm m10 washer generally converts the plentiful budget 6 speed version into the 7 speed. Try your LBS as complete wheels/bikes are often dumped. Note that there are possible other size diameter versions of 26 wheel. The usual mountain bike version has 559 in the description. New wheel below for £24 + pp

Thanks Sturmey.
I notoce it says 135mm OLN (I don't know what OLN means.
My dropouts are 145mm (I know 'cos I fitted the AKM motor), will this wheel fit?

Is it a Q/R hub or bolt on? Disc or rim brake?

If you go to your nearest bike recycling centre, they'll have a shed load of 7-speed wheels off all the catalogue bikes.

Thanks Saneagle
It's a bolt on disc wheel.
The bike came to me with Dillenger rear hub, I fitted the AKM. So, as far as I know, it's a 145mm. It's a full sus recumbent with 26" rear wheel, so the chainstay and down tube ( though it's only around 30degrees to the chain stay), are quite short. So I think it'd be a real push to stretch it 10mm.
The 26 559x19 wheel looks favourite.
There is an existing Marathon Plus fitted that's marked 35-559 26x1.35, would this fit the 559x19 rim?

Sorry, just looked at the spec and see it's a 135mm fitting and for minimum 1.5 tyre.

DOUGH !!!

Curiosity corner: Why would a freehub hub not do?

Just trying to use what parts I have.
I am probably going to loose a lot of money (a lot for me) when selling this. I bought it thinking it would relieve the neck and shoulder strain I get sometimes. Fitting swept back riser bars has helped a lot but it still occurs. Sure enough the recumbent eliminates that but I hadn't allowed for the totally different muscle set and the way the power transfers through the body. This meant hill climbing is a right bugger. I badly hurt my lower back/hip joint when having to do a hill start after stopping for a shying horse.
If I was younger than my 70 years I would persist and develop the muscles needed, but I reckon I've left it a bit late in life especially living in very hilly west Wales.
Anyone want to buy a very nice recumbent with a KT/AKM conversion on it?

Keep going, young man!

Would a recumbent trike be any different for you?

Unfortunately i live in a small terraced house, so no room as the bikes have to come through the house.
But also it's that power transfer line which comes up the leg, through the hip and lower spine into the seat. That's a lot of load on the hip joint that seemed to also affect the sacral and lower lumber areas of the spine. Took me 9 months of massage, excercise, acupuncture to get beyond the pain. Strangely the only time I was pain free was within about 5 minutes of getting on my bike. Go figure !

Having been trawling t'internet, I've realised that the axle length I need is specced as 143mm not 145. Still having trouble finding a freewheel though (wheel or axle). Loads of freehubs or freewheels at 135mm but not what I need.
