Hi everyone,
Looking for advice on whether to buy a second hand freego electric folding bike, it as 36v battery, Charger & Key - are they any good? Are there any common issues with the motor - the ad states in good working order and eve works as it should - never had a freego before!
Thanks in advance

There are a lot of different models. They all work, but some have better control systems than others. The cheaper Freegos had a bit of delay between pedalling and the pedal assist kicking in, which some would find annoying. On the plus side, they normally have throttles, which can be set to full range .

The bikes, motors and battery are all as good as anything similar. All the electrics are standard Chinese parts, which are readily available, except the motor controller might have specific wiring for the Freego, but it can be substituted for any standard controller if you're happy to do a bit of wiring.

The motors are generally very reliable. No ebike likes being left out in the rain. Riding in the rain is not a problem as long as you're sensible about it.

The Freego company is no longer but that shouldn't put you off buying it if the price is right, Ebikes direct may still have some spares. In most cases should anything go wrong then the electronics can be all swapped out for about £40 - £100 depending on the brand chosen, also the battery is not an issue and one in the future can use any generic 36v battery or have it re-celled.
