it is usual that a company with a sizable existing clientele like Freego would be taken over rather than left to vanish.I see that the Freego company has ceased trading and is about to go into liquidation. That's tough fro those who have recently bought new bikes from them.
had my Eagle for 7 years. Good sturdy bike. Never given any trouble. Still original battery good for about 20/25 miles easy riding. I have a new Oxygen but Eagle is used by son in law during summer. Good bike good service. Will be a shame to lose them, but very competitive market place, which I suspect will eventually be dominated by the big playersI was convinced how good ebikes were by two customers who came in the shop where I used to work. One was a nurse, who did a 20 mile commute every day, and the man I spoke to had done about 9000 miles and carried all sorts on his. Both were Freego bikes. There are loads around here, in daily use. I always thought Freego and Wisper had joined, yet noticed only the other day how Freego sang the praises of a central battery, while Wisper kept theirs at the back. Lets hope that something can be salvaged. They are bikes for working people to stay mobile. They convinced me to go and buy my Santana from Woosh, nearly six years ago.
Well, I've seen at least four Powabyke Shoppers around here, and spoken to a couple of the owners. I notice they are out of stock on EBikes Direct, so they must sell well... Juicy Bike still has practical bikes at sensible prices. I read a review of a Riese Muller step-through on the Electric Bike Report site. Lovely bike, but so expensive. Woosh bikes are sensibly priced, but I don't like the battery at the back. Any dealers thought of these, or will the extra duties make them too dear?ah the sturdy look of e-bikes a few years ago... That was before German bikes dominate the market.
nowadays, Chinese e-bikes have to follow the look and trend set by Cube and Haibike...
I think you may be right Woosh, it’s interesting that a company ceases trading, lays off staff, closes its website, announces that a liquidation is imminent, then days later have still not actually liquidated. It seems that a restructuring deal maybe going on behind closed doors. Let’s hope that’s the case for the sake of the owners out there with bikes that may not be covered and the dealers with bikes still on the shelves.it is usual that a company with a sizable existing clientele like Freego would be taken over rather than left to vanish.
it's still early days.
