OK so I know if you want to adopt a child you have to jump through many hoops ( smoking is a big barrier) but with a bike dose someone make sure your going to clean it probably and have a nice place to store it when not in use before your allowed to buy one.

i may have you all wrong, in which case I apologise but to be honest I’m not interested in drivers, restrains, trends etc and pain points I know all about, finding the right pair of padded shorts solved that problem

I can give an example if not a definition. A Bosch motor with a very small fault that will be fixed rather slowly by very expensive replacement.

Reliability.
Longevity.
Range anxiety.
Weight.
15.5mph.
Finding that 250W and a Cat 4 hill will still bring you out in a muck sweat (my fault for being porky, not the bike's )
Accidental undercharged battery.
A locked battery that you forgot to turn on & didn't bring the key (that's a Fazua special).

You get the idea...

I must admit I've never considered any of those things. If I run out of juice I can just pedal (hub motor) and I don't do hills much. As for my bike going wrong, well it will do one day they all do so best not worry too much about that.
