China's most popular bike maker has designed e-bikes expressly for the Western European and Scandinavian markets and is heading our way with them:

Thanks Flecc, very nice but there doesn't look like theirs much clearance for mudguards on that very sporty model illustrated :). Looking forward to seeing the rest of the range though.

This unobtrusive battery placement seems to be gaining in popularity.

Flecc when I saw the Flying Pidgeon heading west I feared for it`s safety over S.Wales, as the Welsh Sparrowhawks might have risen to intercept and down it . Is there room for more brands here ? With a name like that it should sell in flocks !

I was going to say "migrating west", but didn't because that implies a move rather than just sending product!

In mainland Europe probably yes, Germans alone bought over 300,000 last year. In Britain I doubt it, with sales less than one tenth of that we probably have too many brands already.

The Flying Pigeon company is an interesting company,I visited last China visit-they are a big company but considerably reduced from Chairman Mao's days. They still make the original workers revolution bike,Mao's dream of getting everyone mobile, the original rod operated brakes bike is shipped CKD to Africa, crazily cheap.
They had a nice trike but their other models were a bit old fashioned, the main problems is they were heavy(some over 30kgs) and they refused to offer EN15194 certificates, but maybe that has changed.
They are located in Tianjin, near Bejing,it's cold up there, even in spring.
