Hello guys i've been looking at the A2B Metro as a means of getting to work i normally cycle the 24 mile round trip but fancy one of these as sometimes its just to long a slog home, at the end of a 10hr shift, my journey consists of varied terrain lots of up hills and down not to many flats, i live in the Lakes,
Queston is has anyone tried these as i cant get a demo shop near me.
I'm open to any other bike's but quite like the funky looks of the a2b
Cheers Brian

I've never tried the A2B, but the small wheel is suitable for hill climbing though any hub-motor bike needs a fairly strong rider on steep hills. I think your round trip on a single charge is unlikely though, the range quoted at 20 miles unassisted will be in favourable territory and those Lake District hills are far from favourable and will punish the battery.

You need to bear in mind that capacity and range fall as a battery ages, so even if it's just manageable when new it may not be a few months later. If you can charge the battery at both ends of your trip that will be ok.

I have to say it's never wise to buy an e-bike without trying it first, it's worth making the effort and facing the expense to travel to where you can have a trial ride. Buying a bike that doesn't suit is a very expensive mistake.

I'm told that the second battery pack will shortly be available in the uk for the a2b effectively doubling the range.

Agree with flecc though, you have to ride one of these beasts to truly appreciate its awesomeness :)

Did I just make that word up ?

I ve got one in stock, but the lakes has to be 130 miles away

I have had my ultramotor for a few days now and it is awsome, I had a 905SE before and for my journey it blows the wisper away, BUT it is only about 5 miles each way so suits the battery range. I also have a couple of big junction where it is important to keep with the flow of the traffic.

I think as an experienced cyclist you may be disappointed by the ride on an electric bike, if you are just after a helping hand then a Cytronex type of bike sounds much better. They are closer to a normal bike than most pedelecs but give a push up the hills for you.
Cytronex Electric Bike System - electric bicycles with hidden power assistance
Had a look at these bike's they do look very good will try to take a closer look and find some reviews for them thanks for that info.

Personally, I think the Cytronex Cannondale Synapse is the best "off the shelf" e-bike that money can buy. Not for everyone perhaps, but it suits me (sir)

Follow the earlier Cytronex link posted by Mussels. Not cheap, but worth it. I bought two in the end (one for the wife).

Mark will be doing kits at some point. Might be worth considering fitting to your existing Synapse?
