Hi everyone, greetings from Indonesia

I am new with Pedelecs / Ebikes
Recently bought a Fiido D2S and having a good time with it
It has 6speed Shimano Gears and while its rather heavy at 19kg but it was a breeze to ride.

But every now and then, 15-20 minutes or so, the motor keeps shutting down / cutting off, It happen on smooth road, bike was fully charged, I believe its not caused by any bumps that make the cables unplugged or so, I can restart the electric motor again, but is this normal?

I find this cutting off to be frequently occuring when I am on full electric mode or pedal asssist lv2 and lv3..

Does the display turn off or stay on ?

If it turns off then there is power disruption to it, if not then try the following.

Check the hub motor connector (trace it from the hub axle), sometimes it may not be fully connected and only needs to be 1 or 2mm short of a full connection for the pins not to connect properly, pull it apart and then push it together fully. There are embossed raised arrows to align the two parts and a embossed raised stop line on the male connector.

mine did not have a display only some green indicators for battery level and pedal assist level, but yeah when the power cut off the green indicators turns off too, but will try as you suggested, maybe one of the pins does not align properly..

If the control panel goes off, it's because its connection to the battery has been interrupted. That can be cecause of a connector problem, bad key-switch or soder joints on the back of it, or a fault in the battery.

Whether a display or junky funky LED light sequence, if they go out/switch off then the issue is between said handle bar unit and battery. There should e no reason to look elsewhere, we have to try and read between the lines of the request as we find not all relevant info is given.

I have noticed 2 times blinking on the led after I restarted the motor when it shuts down, I searched at the Fiido reference and 2 times blink indicates "DC point is abnormal" is this relating to the battery / supply of power or is it the motor?

It's something to do with the battery or its connection.

Hi. I have the same problem. Where did Fiido admit it was a manufacturing defect? Maybe some link?

Just contact Fiido by email support@fiido.com. If your bike is still under warranty, they'll send you the parts you need to fix it or give you a warranty certificate so you can take it to one of their repair centres.
