Has anyone fitted a guard to a 52t chainwheel ,( SR Custom ) i have tried the later type all one piece from John even not enough clearance without modifying, i think maybe a bash guard could be the answer, interesting to hear your comments. thanks.

Not sure you'd find a "bash guard" that big very easily - though the aluminium chain guard on my recumbent chainset does feel rather more like a bash guard! I've always found spa cycles are good for out of the ordinary stuff like chainguards etc - them or John's Street Cycles as they both have experience in the weird stuff that tourers and the like want!
