Hiya all
i have an Ezee motor approx 2 years old.
when I got it I had to wire in an L10 connector to make it compatible with my Baserunner controller.
during the process I noticed an extra thin white wire, along with the usual hall and phase wire.
I contacted the vendor to find out what it was for but he never replied, so I left it disconnected.
Would anyone know what this wire does?
The reason for asking is because I’ve just added a Cycle Analyst and I’m having strange speedo readings and am wondering if the white wire is meant to be the speed sensor?
thanks

Your thoughts are correct it is for a Speed sensor if the hub has a Hall and magnet installed to read it.

Test the signal wire for a pulse with the wheel spun backward to confirm its a speed sensor, otherwise its possibly a temp sensor signal.

A simple meter test will tell if the wire is switching 5v by slowly rotating the wheel C/W, very few/rare for a hub to have a temp sensor as well as mid drive how many do you know that have a temp sensor.

Typically all hubs that have six Hall wires , the white one is for speed sensing.

My TSDZ2 has a temp sensor but only because I added one.

Speed sensor and thermister for temperature.

I didn’t get a reply back and so just decided to connect the white wire back into the loom…….and hey presto, it all works perfectly now
