Extending arm to reduce chance of been hit by overtaking car

The angle sideways isn't so much the problem, it's that it also goes forwards and backwards at a significant angle, so that if the road is wet it could reflect back up into a driver's field of view.
I agree, but that should keep the cars further away......
Somewhere, I have one of those rear lights, I might do a test when it rains.....if it still works and I did not give it away on my last e-bike!

I can understand your frustration with a lot of car drivers, but if we get a reputation for dazzling motorists with laser systems, it's not going to help our cause.

That has not been proven yet, either way.
I never had a car driver complain to me when using mine years ago, and I never had any "near misses" from cars while using it either....They really would have stuck in my mind, I can assure you.
But I am not assuming anything, proof and facts are needed, with a clear night video as well!
