Expensive front sprocket!

Hi.
I've just joined so this is my first thread. I bought a Haibike Hard Seven 6.0 back at the beginning of May. I've done about 500 miles nearly all off road, loving the bike! Took it back for first service and they told me I needed a new chain. No surprise. However, since then I've been getting a 'grrr' noise from front. I'm pretty sure the issue is the front sprocket.
I'm going to buy the spider tool to remove etc, but as it's a 27.5plus model, and needs an offset sprocket, that's £90 as far as I can tell!! £90sprocket plus chain three times a year?!?!
So my question is, has anyone sorted a reasonable fix to replace the sprocket on a 27.5 plus model (I believe the Scott egenius plus size has the same offset sprocket issue too)?
My first thoughts are if I could buy one of the separate chain guards and a 16 SRAM sprocket.
I haven't removed anything yet, but am sure the current sprocket is one piece with guards either side.
Any solutions, or cheaper compatible products would be much appreciated. Cheers, Berty

Couple of options for you.

1) contact a KTM dealer, we have them in stock in the 3mm offset size and you shouldn't be paying more than £40.00

or

2) just buy a flat one and put a spacer behind it.

Thanks. I'll buy a flat one and when I get the spider tool I'll take the sprocket off to see how I might use a spacer. One concern is that from my investigations it seems an 8mm rather than 3mm offset is needed. But all may become clear when I disassemble.
If anyone has had to replace this already on a plus tyre size Haibike or Scott, let me know how you got on.
