Hi Welcome, How important is derestricting? can you return the bike still?

I dont know your bike but generally a 'built in' bike is significantly harder and more expensive to modify than a 'bolt on' bike !! And depending on manufacturer sometimes impossible to mod..

If its simply a ' I bought this bike I wanna own it' thing.. it might not be worth it for creeping upto 20 mph or so eventually on the flat??

its the display/controller f/w that contain the restrictions, generally the display dumps operating parameters to the controller at start up, so you either configure/reprogram/ replace the controller/display combo.
I suspect yours will need replacing but???

Then if your asking your controller to provide more amps than your battery can provide, whoops!! as @jamesporritt points out that can end badly.. 10ah is a pretty small battery HA, just seen the site upto 90km on a 10 ah 36v battery?? OH YESS.. on the bus perhaps using the battery for your phone..

I don't know for sure, but from what little I do know about Estarli my bet would be that they'll have the system locked to stop you doing that.

Check whether it has the standard 9-pin motor connector. If it has one you can hack the speed signal by dividing it by 2 with a double flipflop arrangement. You get a motor extension cable, cut the connectors off, solder the phase and hall signal wires together and stick the double flipflop between the two ends of the speed sensor wire, using the red and black to power it, and running them through to power the motor sensors. That makes a device you can plug in or take out when you want. There's about an 80% chance it'll work. Some controllers get round that by using the hall sensors to get the speed for the cutoff, not the speed sensor that they use for speed display etc.

Alternatively, you can cut into your existing motor cable to access the 5v and speed signal.

There are also some ideas here that might work, in particular, just interrupting the speed signal by cutting the speed sensor wire or unsoldering it might be the simplest solution:

I don't understand why you have spent your hard earned money on an expensive bike, that you knew would be restricted to 15.5mph, to then come here seeking how to make it illegal and to void the warranty ?
If it doesn't do what you want - take it back.
