This is genuine - not an advert, the other day I needed to go out on the bike, the temperature was 3 degrees C, but the wind chill made it feel a lot colder, my problem - no thermals, so hunter round for something to wear and took a chance on 'Keep safe' white Coveralls which I had left from when I retired (as a gasman), wearing then over a t-shirt and under my jeans, it was great, no wind chill, no idea what it was about them that kept me warm, but worked for me.

Still planning on getting thermals though.

Probably the good sealing keeping your body heat in Andy. It's often preached that multiple thin layers are as good as or better than one thick layer for keeping warm.

I find that one of the benefits of ebikes is that you can wrap up well in the cold without running the risk of overheating and getting wet through with sweat. When cold I wear a pair of thermal walking trousers and several layers on top half. I can wear them as I have a chain guard

Interesting..!

I'm a Merino wool fan myself. I've got a pair of under the trouser type leggings that I wear a lot. They have a remarkable ability to not get dirty from sweat. Very warm. Expensive for a good pair though but worth it.
