Elife cutting out

I wonder if anyone can advise on the likely cause of an elife legacy cutting out although the battery is fully charged? It was secondhand, worked well for a few months but now cuts out when under power after a fairly short distance (say 100m). There isn't any progressive loss of power on the display, just goes from 4 power lights to off. Local bike shop say there aren't say broken connections, but as there's no built in diagnostics they can't go any further apparently. Any help appreciated.

Probably a shagged out battery, ideally you need a voltage meter wired up so you can see the real time voltage reading. If the battery is shagged then the voltage collapses, a shagged out battery can still fully charge .

When fully charged what is the battery voltage reading ?

I've just collected it from the bike shop and they haven't tested the battery at all. However a friendly electrician is going to have a look at it tomorrow so hoping to test the battery at rest and under load.

Hopefully you see a decent voltage when fully charged 29.05 - 29.4v for a 24v nominal battery and 41.5v - 42v for a 36v nominal battery.
If under load as a pack the cells sag badly then the battery is shagged out.

Sadly you will find this with most bike shops unless the machine an tell them they have no clue when it comes to electronics, it has been said before they are box shifters and apart form some mechanical idea they are at a loss at fault finding.
