Electric trike twist throttle

I have recently bought an electric trike for my wife who has a disability and sometimes can’t pedal for long periods so want to fit a twist throttle. The trike has a Bafang C961 display & the controller is built into the battery holder. Has anyone found a way to do this?

I have two problems. Firstly there is no ‘spare’ connector on the wiring loom to connect the throttle ( I have modified previous bikes) & I can’t find any details of the controller. Secondly, I would like the ability to alter some settings in the display but it seems to be locked. Is there a way of getting beyond the ‘Advanced Setting‘ menu?

c961 is usually a BBS mid drive lcd.
If the controller has no opton for a spare connection then one will need a compatibale controller with the option programmed.

Thanks for the reply. I am on holiday at the moment & my wife seems to be getting on ok with it so far so maybe we will leave it for now. Out of interest what happens if I simply disconnect the pedal assist sensor?
