Just come back from a week around Lake Constance (Germany) and saw a few of these -hub gear, disc brakes front and back and a motor in the centre. Looks very solid and practical. Also saw a few blue step through electrics but the only name I could see was Sprint (possibly Sprinter), but more like a Giant Suede than an Ezee, but like the post bike, it had its motor in the centre like the Lafreee Twist.

With our Royal Mail currently hunting around for electric post bikes, we could yet see these imported Alan, there's not much on our market that could do this job.

I didn't know the British post office were looking for pedelecs, but then I found a very recent article on the subject http://www.bike-eu.com/news/article.asp?id=2304 http://www.bike-eu.com/news/article.asp?id=2304

It sounds like Pashley ought to be thinking about electrics seriously before they lose out to a big contract. Did you see the program on bicycles on BBC4 last night -primarily about cycling in the Edwardian era, it nonetheless showed Pashley's factory, and lots of hand built post bikes being put together.

They may well be Alan, as they wouldn't like to lose all that Royal Mail business. Certainly they have traditionally had a strong "Buy British" bias even where that has been irrational as with buying Leyland-DAF vans when well proven vehicles like the Transit and similar were the clear choices of preference.

Pashley could easily adapt their post bike to a hub motor from Heinzmann or similar.
