Hello.
I am reading all the blogs and comments about electric bike kits and not really finding any real best buys, only buyer bewear and spend thousands if you want to be satisfied.
I was gifted a unisex bike (a French bike called Decathlon) and having had it for several months. Decided to put a kit on it. I chose the 8Fun bike kit and can only say I am actually blown away by the performance and quality of the kit,
I did have some troublle with connections etc but recieved good feed back from 8Fun bike and am now up and running. Have been on half dozen trips now 3 of which were over 20 miles and all got me home with pedal asist, and I live in west Wiltshire which is very hilly
Complete kit and battery. £430 not bad considering some of the bikes on the market.
I have no connection with this company and am not advertising their products
Any comments?

David, welcome to Pedelecs forum.

There is a certain irony to converting a bike which you already own to electric assist, get it wrong, and you only have yourself to blame. :(

I am however, glad to hear you are entirely satisfied with your own creation, which clearly meets all of your expectations and demands. As you have now discovered, all that is needed to enter the world of E-biking is a little common sense coupled with some basic knowledge of wiring connections.

I'm a little surprised you invited comments, can the opinions of others really detract from your own satisfaction?

Have fun with your electrified Decathlon, it will give you just as much enjoyment as a machine costing five times the amount you paid for the kit. ;)

Regards
Bob

The 8Fun kit has been around for about 3 years now. It's gradually been updated and improved along the way. The motor's bullet proof. It's a shame they don't offer larger battery options.
