A very generous helping hand for someone to have a bit more freedom.
inverted brake levers don't do it for me though, seems a lot more effort is required opposed to pulling on them.

For the last two years or so I have repeatedly seen tracks around Ashdown Forest and the woodlands that I ride in, which had really puzzled me. First off I thought they must be being made by someone on a small trials bike, but when I finally got around to looking closer at them, they were equal width apart. I still couldn't work out what was making them though, as the tracks were too narrow to be a quad, but the terrain that what ever it was, was being ridden through the same deep mud etc that I do.
Finally about a month ago I spotted what it was. Some elderly guy has built himself an all terrain disabled buggy in which his two dogs run beside, that looks more like a kids go cart, and from what I could see from a distance, is using car batteries to power it.

I really love that there is someone else out there tackling a fair percentage of what I'm doing, but is too elderly or incapable of walking. The thing seems to go anywhere, and its major plus point is a low centre of gravity. He must really be peeing off the local do-gooders, forest rangers and conservators. Good luck to him. :)

The genius bit is the simple bit I like, using a pair of stock bikes to make up a quad bike albeit with an added inner welded frame.

We take it for granted having a pair of eyes, arms and legs in working order, those that deal and live with out are heroic a word that is often over used in todays world in many undeserving cases.

There was a thread on here about someone wanting to do similar. Azub, HPvelotechnik, Utah Trikes, Hase, ... all now have off road capable e-trikes or quads. The Azub one is in final development stage, shown at this years Spezi, and can be a hand trike or a pedal trike.
