All being well I should be taking delivery of a Cube Kathmandu 625 Easy Entry in a couple of weeks. Whilst this is a very good thing it does however present me with a little difficulty with regards to storage. We live in a small but perfect for us retirement bungalow with no garage and although there is a shed it is chocker block with the sort of things that sheds normally are and I'm loath to try to store such a high-value item in this sort of environment. This leaves me looking for a stand-alone storage solution hence this post. Due to limited space, I need something just big enough to store the bike, of reasonable price and does not promote dampness and condensation. It is my hope that someone on here has successfully addressed the same problem and would be kind enough to share their resolution with me.

You can make it a lot less unobtrusive so that you can keep it in the house. Buy some folding pedals from Ebay , and when you bring it in the house, fild them and loosen the two clamp screws on the front of the steering head enough to turn the handlebars at right-angles to the wheel. That way it's totally flat instear of having awkward sticking out bits.

On my bike, I replaced those two screws with lever screws so I don't need the allen key to loosen and tighten them. This sort of thing, but you have to search for a pair with the right length and size thread:

This thread is worth a look if you have room for another small shed

Your bike doesn't seem to finding it "Easy Entry" into your house! Lithium-ion batteries need regular charging, in order to keep the battery healthy... best not to leave them for several months at a time - as an example, my laptop needs surgery because I had not been charging it for many months at a time or been using it much at all for the past couple of years, and in storage it'd be easy to forget to charge your bike every so often, then you'd have to buy a new battery far sooner than anticipated. If you at all can, keep it in the house... perhaps on a wall rack? Or hoist it up near the ceiling on a pulley system, train upon it lights and exhibit your bike as art? Embed some sort of secure anchoring point within a small second shed's concrete floor? Mine folds small, it might end up near the ceiling.

When I used to live in a flat in the city, we couldn't leave our bikes outside or they would have disappeared. So I bought wall mounts for them and hung them on the wall. Took up very little space.

It's usually the missuss who object to perfectly sensible solutions like that, which is when you suggest covering it up with a canoe
