Compared to Shanghai...much disappointment!
Internal combustion rules supreme, cycle infrastructure pretty poor. People on bikes take no prisoners. You are expected to get out the way.
Cycling seen as a leisure activity, lots of road bikes, offroading not really a thing.
Driving pretty poor, right turn permitted on red through pedestrian phase...but left on a green light that a British would consider give way,no go? Weird.
Public transport is pretty awesome though. The buses don't hang around and brake hard.
Fire engines and ambulances stop at red lights even on the way to an incident with sirens on. Police, fire and security all carry flashing lights at all times. They never hurry. China was pretty similar.
